The Bluejackets are Southend - on - Sea's premier youth band for young people under 21. They all have lots of fun training and competing together all around the
country and abroad. There are social events for the parents too!
The Bluejackets practice twice a week, on Tuesday* and Thursday evenings at Thorpe Junior School in Greenways, Thorpe Bay.
*Not 1st Tuesday of the month. Training band (beginers) on Tuesdays only
New members are always welcome. You don't even need
to play an instrument as full tution is provided in our training band.

For 1998 the Bluejackets brass line is changing over to 'G' pitch American
instruments and the woodwind is going completely 'Saxy!!'. The show for 1998 will be 'The Best
of the Bluejackets' a revist to some of our favorite tunes all polished up for the new instrumentation.
They will be playing old favorites as well, including their signature tune, 'Anchors Aweigh'.
