V8 Specification



  • Chassis: Full Spaceframe construction, consisting of 100 metres of tube, 310 joints, 128 brackets and 33 metres of weld. It is fitted with steel front and rear bulkheads and centre section steel tunnel.

  • Bodyshell: Fourteen chassis mounted body panels made of GRP reinforced with Kevlar.

  • Suspension: Front double wishbone system with heavy duty uprights and ball joints, fully adjustable with anti-dive facility, specially developed gas shock absorbers which are mounted with 2.25" 1200lb springs.

  • Rear Axle: a live rear axle using full floating Nascar styled hubs. four link mountings to retain the axle with Panhard rod for side location. Rear shock absorbers as front, mounted with 2.25", 400 lb springs. Adjustable roll bar fitted front and rear.

  • Gearbox: Quaife 5-speed dog type transmission specially designed for this application.
    Ratios:
  • Final Drive: Ford 9" with Detroit locker limited slip differential. Ratio 3.15:1.

  • Clutch: Tilton 7.25" multi-plate hydraulic.

  • Engine: Ford SVO 5.8 litre (351 cubic inch) V8 engine built by Roush Racing, Livona, Michigan,USA. Max power 450 bhp at 6,500 rpm. Max tourqe 430 ft/lbs at 5,000 rpm.

  • Ignition System: Ford MSD ignition system with 6,800 rev limiter built in.

  • Cooling: A specially designed radiator with a thermo controller fan assembly.

  • Exhaust: Formed stainless steel manifold with long primaries and a 3" exhaust system extending to the rear panel.

  • Brakes: Front - 320 x 34 vented discs fitted with 4 pot racing radial caliper mounted on a pair of adaptors. Rear - 280 x 20 vented discs with twin pot calipers using various compounds of brake pads.

  • Steering: Non-assisted rack and pinion.

  • Interior: A full set of liquid filled gauges, 15" steering wheel, race seat, 3" multi-pointed seat belts, roll cage, plenty of padding and a Nascar style window net.

  • Wheels/Tyres: 10 x 15" competition, 6 stud, steel wheels with 10 x 15 x 25 Avon developed controlled tyres in slick and wet pattern compounds.
